Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana is recovering and hoping to be available for the Premier League opener

Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana recently revealed that he is working hard to recover from his injury and hopes to return in the Premier League opener against Arsenal on August 17.

Although Onana travelled with the team to the United States for pre-season, he did not play in any of the Premier League summer series matches. He has been undergoing personal recovery training, striving to return to the field before the start of the season.

Previously, Manchester United had Altay Baindel and veteran Tom Heaton taking turns guarding the goal, with Baindel playing against West Ham United and Everton respectively, while Heaton started in the 4-1 victory over Bournemouth.

In an interview, Onana talked about his recovery and his expectations for the new season: "I feel good, very good. These past few weeks have been a bit difficult, but I hope to be back before the season opener. I enjoy training with my teammates and we are all actively preparing for the new season."

Onana also spoke with former United goalkeeper Tim Howard about the transformation the team has shown after a difficult season. "I think we are more united than ever," Onana said.

"We are all aware of the difficulties of last season and know that we must avoid a repeat of the same mistakes. We are now giving our all in training and cooperating happily with each other. This atmosphere will be an important guarantee for our competitiveness."

"I am very satisfied with the team's current development. We are playing better and scoring more goals. I believe that as long as we can get off to a good start against Arsenal, there are endless possibilities in the new season."

Manchester United will have their final friendly match against Serie A powerhouse Fiorentina this Saturday at Old Trafford for the Snapdragon Cup.
