Sunderland announced on its official website on Wednesday that the club has signed Morocco U21s international winger wonderkid Chemsdine Talbi from Club Brugge.

According to Sunderland's official statement, Talbi has signed on a long-term five-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2030.

In addition, according to the news brought by The Athletic's resident renowned English transfer journalist David Ornstein, Sunderland paid a total of £19.5 million to Club Brugge to sign Talbi.

After completing his joining procedures, Talbi, who was interviewed by the Sunderland official website for the first time, said: "I am very happy to be here and I am very grateful for the opportunity to play for this club. I made this decision because this is a great project and a team of talented and energetic young players, which really inspired me."

"The Premier League is the biggest and best league in the world, so I am looking forward to starting the new season. I know the fans will support me from the beginning, and I can't wait to see them on the pitch."

About Chemsdine Talbi

Talbi, who is only 20 years old, was born in Sambreville, Belgium on May 9, 2005. He is 1.75 meters tall and primarily plays as a right winger. He can also play as a left winger or attacking midfielder. He has dual Belgian and Moroccan nationality.

Talbi played for the youth academy of Royale Union Tubize-Braine when he was young. He joined the Club Brugge youth academy in 2015, began to play for its reserve team in 2022 and completed his Club Brugge first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in March of the following year.

During his three-year spell at Club Brugge, Talbi played 33 times for the Jupiler Pro League powerhouse in all competitions, scoring 6 goals, providing 7 assists, and winning the Belgian Cup once with the club.
