Jurgen Strand-Larsen is confident in his team's ability to turn things around

Jørgen Strand-Larsen says the Wolves squad will give their all against Burnley in their quest for their first Premier League win of the season. The Norwegian striker revealed that after months of struggling with an Achilles injury, his fitness has improved significantly this week and he is confident the team can turn things around.

Wolves have not won a game in any competition since April. Jürgen Strand-Larsen believes that home form will be crucial in turning the team around. He knows that if the stadium is to become a fortress for opponents again, the players must step up and give the fans a performance worthy of cheers.

Speaking about the positive attitude against Burnley, Jürgen Strand-Larsen said: "This reflects our efforts to show our quality, just as we have been improving in the past few games. Although we lost to Sunderland in the last round, I thought we clearly took the initiative in the second half. This is exactly what we are looking for, especially in terms of ball possession."

"We still have a lot to improve, but I think the team is in good shape overall. The training atmosphere is positive because we all know that the season is still long and there are many games to go, and Sunday's game will be particularly crucial. The team is very competitive and everyone is constantly improving. I believe our team is still united and we are ready for the game this weekend."

"I think we play with a better football philosophy this year. We lost several important players in the summer, but we also welcomed new faces. They have good skills, but they just need time to adapt to the team's system. Compared with the previous style that relied more on off-ball movement, we now focus more on possession and organization."

"Under the new formation system, we hope to play more dominantly, which also means that there will be less off-ball movement. We hope to continue this momentum. It is indeed a difficult game away to Sunderland, but the Premier League is a challenging league. Even in the face of difficulties away from home, we must remain courageous enough and stick to this style of play. This is where we still need to improve. However, I hope that this time at home, we can establish the rhythm of the game from the first minute."

“We don’t dwell on the last time we won. But we’re also aware that our current form isn’t at the ideal level yet. Our preparations for this game are no different from any other. The season has only just begun, but this game means a lot to us because it can help us narrow the gap and further boost the team’s confidence.”

“At home, we will do our best to create a positive atmosphere with our fans. We hope to ignite their enthusiasm through good performances and fight until the very end. This season and last season, we have lost too many games at home, so we must work hard to turn things around and make our home ground a place that our opponents fear again.”

When discussing the topic of becoming a team leader, Jürgen Strand-Larsen said: "There is a lot of discussion outside, but the positive thing is that we have a very strong team of captains in the team. In addition to the official captain, there are also some players who play a leadership role. They care about the team and want to improve. I think who wears the captain's armband is not the most important thing, because we have many people in the team who have the ability and responsibility to do so."

"Obviously, Totti is a great captain and we have a medical team around us, so we don't dwell too much on these issues. What's more important is that someone constantly pushes everyone to the highest level in training, making sure the players are ready for the games and do the right things. I never had any doubts about this because our team has always performed well. One of the reasons for the decline in strength last season was also related to the lack of this driving force."

"The key now is to find a way of playing that suits us. The players who left last season gave me a lot of assists, so we need to explore how to cooperate with each other and improve our overall performance. It may take some time, but I feel we are getting there. Personally, I have had an Achilles tendon problem in the past few weeks and months. My training volume has been limited, so I didn't feel completely fit when I went into the game, but it was not so bad that it would affect my participation."

"It was a difficult decision because you always want to contribute, especially after my performance last season. The season started slowly for me and the team, but we all know the quality in the team. As we gradually find our best combination, it will be very beneficial for the whole team."

Talking about the impact of the Achilles tendon injury on the game, Jurgen Strand-Larsen said: "It's really difficult. If we can get 15 or 20 points and I have scored 3 goals, the situation may be better because I can rest for a while longer. But even so, I still hope to do my best to help the team. Sometimes your physical condition may not be ideal, but you still want to contribute to the team."

"At the same time, Vitor Pereira also knew there were other options, so sometimes I would come off early and sit on the bench, just like I had experienced in previous cup matches. We are always trying to find the best solution. The good news is that I feel much better, the past week has been very positive for me and my recovery is going well."

When talking about his Achilles tendon injury, Jurgen Strand-Larsen said: "The Achilles tendon is not in ideal condition because it affects every step of the movement. It is indeed a bit annoying, but it is not the reason why the team failed to win. If the striker can stay 100% healthy, it will obviously help the team. I feel very close to 100% now and hope to create more threats in the game like last season."

"Things will get better. I've been feeling much better over the past three or four weeks. I'm not at my best yet, but I need a little recovery. Especially in training, I've been feeling very positive over the past week, which has given me the confidence to play and play more comfortably. This has also allowed my teammates to feel my energy and aggressiveness, which was very important for our pressing tactics last season and helped us score key goals. As long as we can maintain this form in Sunday's game, we'll be able to start to regain our momentum."
