Nottingham Forest have officially announced the signing of Brazilian goalkeeper Johan Victor, who has signed a three-year contract. Johan Victor joins Trentside after two impressive seasons with his hometown club in Brazil.  

The 29-year-old goalkeeper played 39 games for Botafogo in all competitions in the 2024-25 season and is considered one of the best goalkeepers in the Brazilian Serie A. This summer, he performed well in the Club World Cup and made great contributions to the team's successful advancement to the round of 16.  

Last season, Johan Victor joined Rio de Janeiro in January 2024 and became a key player in the team's victory in the league and Copa Libertadores double. Before transferring from Santos to Botafogo, the goalkeeper, who is about 1.93 meters tall, made his first European appearance that same season, joining the Spanish team Real Valladolid on loan.  

After a stint abroad, John Victor returned to his homeland, where he helped the club win both the league and the Copa Libertadores. He impressed throughout the 2023-24 season, making 62 appearances. Now, he returns to Europe for his first Premier League campaign, and the club warmly welcomes him to Nottingham.
