Inter Miami announced on their official website on Thursday that the club have extended the contract of its Italian defensive midfielder Yannick Bright.

According to Inter Miami's official statement, Bright has signed on a new three-year contract which will run until the summer of 2028, with an option to extend for a further year.

About Yannick Bright

The 24-year-old Yannick Bright was born on September 3, 2001, in Milan, Italy. He is 1.80 meters tall and primarily plays as a defensive midfielder, but can also play as a center-back or right-back. He holds Italian, Ivorian, and American citizenship. His younger brother, Kevin, is a midfielder playing in in the Italian non-league system.

Bright played for the youth academies of several non-league clubs in Milan during his childhood. In the fall of 2020, he enrolled at the University of New Hampshire in the United States and became a member of the university's team.

During his time with his university team, Bright earned multiple All-American East First Team selections and was invited twice to participate in MLS College Showcase.

In January 2022, Bright joined the North Carolina Fusion.

In 2024, Bright was selected 15th overall in the first round of the 2024 MLS Super Draft by Inter Miami.

In March of the same year, Bright completed his Inter Miami first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in the match against the New York Red Bulls.

Since becoming a member of Inter Miami, Bright has made 68 appearances for the Major League Soccer (MLS) club in all competitions so far, scoring 1 goal and providing 2 assists, and winning the MLS Supporters' Shield once.
