Aston Villa left-back Luca Digne spoke for the first time after signing a contract extension with the club until 2028, expressing his anticipation for the game before the opening game of the new Premier League season.

Aston Villa will host Newcastle United at home in the opening matchday of the 2025-26 season. Following intensive pre-season training in the United States and at the Bodimore training base, Digne stated that the team can't wait to return to Villa Park for the new season.
