Arsenal midfielder Mikel Merino confident of meeting PSG in second leg

After Arsenal lost 0-1 to Paris Saint-Germain at home in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final, midfielder Mikel Merino expressed his confidence and expectation for a comeback in the second leg.

In the 4th minute of the game, Dembele's goal helped Paris Saint-Germain take the lead, but Arsenal gradually took control of the situation and showed strong fighting spirit. In the post-match interview, Merino believed that despite the defeat in the first game, the strength and resilience shown by the team were enough to support them to complete the reversal in Paris.

Merino reviewed the game and said: "In the first 10 to 15 minutes, our performance was indeed not ideal, but after losing the ball, the team quickly adjusted, showing our personality and spirit, and almost dominated the entire game."

"We know we are a strong team and we are very confident going into the second leg. Today's game is just the beginning of our strength and we can't wait to go to Paris and go all out to win the game."

Merino was supposed to head in a free kick from Declan Rice in the second half, but after a lengthy VAR review, he was ruled offside and the goal was cancelled. Merino admitted that this was one of the turning points of the game: "In a game of this level, a few centimeters can determine the future. I hope these 10 centimeters will be on our side next week."

Although it was regrettable that the goal was ruled invalid, Merino stressed that the team had learned valuable lessons from the game. He said: "We proved that even against a strong opponent like Paris Saint-Germain who emphasizes ball possession, we can still be the dominant force on the field. We have the ability to fight any opponent anywhere."

Arsenal will go to the Parc des Princes in Paris in the second leg, striving to reverse the situation and advance to the Champions League final. Merino's confidence is a true reflection of the team's desire to make history.
