Sevilla head coach Matías Almeida admitted that he regretted the result of the game. Although his team tried their best, they failed to achieve any results.  

Matías Almeida looked quite frustrated in the match against Villarreal. The Argentine coach said afterwards: "The game can be divided into several phases. We started poorly, and the opponent took the initiative with long balls and pressing. However, we gradually adjusted in the face of adversity and started to widen the gap. We played very strongly at the beginning of the second half."  

"We didn't expect to face such a strong opponent with only ten players, and the final result was not satisfactory. However, they are not stronger than us in every aspect, and sometimes we can even have the upper hand. I appreciate the team's attitude. Although we didn't gain anything from this game, this is the direction we are heading. We must keep improving and keep moving forward."  

Matías Almeida said of the substitutions: "These adjustments were very timely. They not only stabilized the defense but also increased the speed of the frontcourt. The game seemed to be collapsing due to the second goal, but the substitutions changed the situation."  

"Even with ten men, we still managed to create an equalizer, which makes me very happy. The playing conditions today were very conducive for us to try to create new opportunities. Although the atmosphere was enthusiastic, the result was a bit bittersweet, but I have no doubt that this is the direction we must strive for."
