Ajax striker Brian Brobie threatened with violent blackmail

Ajax striker Brian Brobie has been threatened with violent extortion, including arson, explosions and shootings, according to Dutch media Het Parool.
The report said that the incident originated from Broby being asked to pay 150,000 euros by an Amsterdam gangster who claimed to have "solved his problems". However, Broby refused to pay, and then he and his family suffered a series of intimidation and attacks.
During the incident, fireworks were first stuffed into the mailbox of his mother-in-law's house, then an explosion occurred near Broby's car, and his sister-in-law's car was set on fire. A friend who tried to intervene and negotiate on Broby's behalf was shot and seriously injured in the hospital.
Although Ajax offered to help, Brobbie allegedly refused the club's help and insisted on dealing with the matter himself. Police investigations showed that Brobbie had not paid any money to the man involved, Jamon A. The man had been sentenced to 10 years in prison in November 2024 for attempting to murder Brobbie's friend, possession of weapons and drug trafficking.
This incident also had a significant impact on Brobbie's career status. Although he had attracted the attention of many Premier League clubs before, his performance declined significantly in the past season, scoring only 4 league goals, far less than the 18 goals in the previous season. He may leave Ajax this summer.
At present, Brobie himself refused to comment on the matter, and his lawyer also said he had no comment. Jamon A's defense lawyer insisted that there was no evidence in the case that his client was involved in blackmail.
