According to TA reporter Sam Amick, the King of Sacramento intends to offload Domantas Sabonis. Besides Sabonis, 30-year-old Zach LaVine, 36-year-old Demar DeRozan, and 27-year-old Malik Monk are also reportedly on the trading block.

The Sacramento Kings have had a poor season, currently sitting at 3 wins and 10 losses, ranking 14th in the Western Conference. If the team continues its slump, the Kings' management is highly likely to initiate a rebuild.

Of all the players, the one with the highest trade value is undoubtedly 29-year-old Sabonis. As the 11th overall pick in the first round of the 2016 NBA draft, Sabonis has played 655 regular season games to date, averaging 16.1 points, 10.7 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game. He has been selected to the All-Star team three times and won the NBA rebounding title three times (2023-2025).

Domantas Sabonis also played 20 playoff games, averaging 12.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.7 assists. He helped the Kings end a 17-year playoff drought alongside De'Aaron Fox in the 2022/23 season and is considered an indispensable core player for the team.

According to Amick on "The Carmichael Dave Show," Sabonis has already been the subject of interest for several NBA teams: "As far as I know, at least a few teams have said, 'Yes, he's a player we'd like to discuss.' As for Zach LaVine, I don't have any information about him."

Amick also pointed out that Sabonis's appeal on the trade market is relatively limited. He analyzed, "I don't think he has many trade opportunities on the market. Part of the reason is that his playing style requires teams to build their tactical systems entirely around his skillset. The Kings have always done this until this year. Now we ironically see why he might be a problem for many other NBA teams, and why his impact is far less than expected—because a team can't accommodate so many playmakers and offensive players at the same time. Sabonis needs to be the core, forming a Curry-Green-like partnership with the point guard to play a specific style. I think very few teams are willing to adjust their tactical systems around him. This is a significant challenge."
