Fabrizio Romano refute rumours claiming that Bayern Munich is also interested in Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi..

Sky Sports' renowned Italian transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano refuted rumours claiming that Bayern Munich is also interested in Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi in his official paid column on Wednesday.

In his column, Romano stated that no journalist, including himself, had ever heard of Bayern Munich is interested in signing Guehi, nor had he heard that the Die Roten were interested in strengthening their central defender position.

He stated that rumours which claimed that Crystal Palace had already agreed to sell the England international defender to Bayern in January and therefore abruptly canceled Guehi's transfer to Liverpool at the last minute after the agreement had been reached was untrue.

On the contrary, prominent Liverpool team correspondents from multiple media outlets have already confirmed online that the transfer fell through at the last minute, after Guehi had completed his medical, due to Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner's threat to resign immediately if the player was sold.

Another factor contributing to Guehi's transfer failure was the fact that Crystal Palace had agreed to sign Brighton defender Igor Julio on-loan, but West Ham United successfully hijacked the deal and signed him at the last minute. He was therefore perplexed as to why some were willing to mislead Liverpool fans with fake information, even involving Bayern Munich.

Upon investigation, the rumour which claimed that the reigning Bundesliga champions is also interested in signing Guehi originated from Alex Crook, an English fake news expert of our website's "Daily Slap in the Face Party" regular representative, the UK's infamously notorious online media outlet, TalkSPORT.

On Tuesday (September 2nd) UK local, Alex Crook, as usual, fabricated the fake news which claimed that Bayern Munich is also interested in signing Guehi during the January transfer window.

The news quickly went viral worldwide, with netizens even falsely claiming that the Eagles cancelled Guehi's transfer to Liverpool at the last minute because they had agreed to sell him to Bayern in January!

The following July, Guehi joined Crystal Palace for £18 million.
