West Ham United captain Jared Bowen said the team must acknowledge their mistakes and regain confidence in order to get out of their slump after losing 2-0 to Brentford at the London Stadium.

In the match, Brentford won away thanks to goals from Igor Thiago and Matthias Jensen. Despite Areola's many saves, West Ham United was unable to mount an effective counterattack.

In the post-match interview, Bowen admitted: "They deserved the victory, the score could have been bigger. We started well, but then we were passive for too long, and the mistakes at the critical moment made the game out of control."

Bowen stressed that the team must rebuild confidence in their mentality and regain the rhythm of victory: "Confidence comes from victory and good performance. Although morale is low now, we must believe that we have the ability to turn the situation around."
