Kevin Love may return to the starting point, giving the Timberwolves an opportunity to strengthen their inside game

On August 7th , it was reported that Kevin Love may reach a buyout agreement with the Jazz. While the Lakers and Clippers are the top destinations, insiders suggest the Timberwolves could be an unexpected option. The veteran player is expected to return to his starting position, supporting the young center and strengthening the team's depth.
According to ClutchPoints reporter Brett Siegel, the Timberwolves are quietly becoming a potential buyout destination worth watching. He noted, "Perhaps it's time to consider the possibility of Kevin Love returning to the Timberwolves. The Timberwolves currently have a roster spot available and lost Luka Garza during the offseason. With young big men like Jon Bellinger, Roko Zikalski, and Leonard Miller not yet fully ready for rotation roles, Love, with his championship experience, would undoubtedly be a valuable voice in the locker room."
As the third overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, Love began his NBA career with the Timberwolves. During his six seasons with the Timberwolves, he earned three consecutive All-Star appearances and established himself as one of the league's top rebounders. While his stats are no longer at their peak, his experience and floor-stretching interior play remain valuable.
Last season with the Heat, Love played in 23 games, averaging less than 11 minutes per game, contributing just 5.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and one assist while shooting 35.7% . Despite these mediocre numbers, he remains a veteran fit for a reserve role on a championship-contending team.
At present, the Jazz have not officially announced a buyout agreement with Love. But as the new season approaches, the whereabouts of this five-time All-Star veteran will undoubtedly become one of the focuses.
