Turkish Basketball Super League champion Fenerbahce announced on Saturday that they have officially signed former NBA shooting guard Talen Horton-Tucker. The two sides have reached a two-year contract that will be valid until 2027.
Horton-Tucker officially became an unrestricted free agent this summer, but he failed to secure a suitable offer from an NBA team before joining Fenerbahce. He played for the Chicago Bulls last season, averaging 6.5 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 58 regular-season games while shooting 45.7% from the field and 33.6% from three-point range.
After the transfer was completed, Fenerbahçe welcomed Horton-Tucker through a statement: "We hope that the contract will be beneficial to the club and Talen Horton-Tucker, and we hope that he can usher in a season full of victories in the yellow and blue jersey."
Horton-Tucker, 24, was the 46th overall pick in the second round of the 2019 NBA Draft. He spent the first three years of his career with the Los Angeles Lakers. He played in 131 regular-season games with the Lakers, averaging 9.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game, and won the NBA championship with the team in his rookie season.
In August 2022, Horton-Tucker was traded to the Utah Jazz along with Stanley Johnson by the Lakers. He played for the Jazz for only two seasons before joining the Bulls. He played a total of 116 regular season games, averaging 10.5 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game.
