French Ligue 1 newcomers Paris FC announced on Sunday the signing of 35-year-old Italian striker Ciro Immobile from Bologna. The contract will run until the end of the season, with an option to extend for another year.
The official confirmation also states that Immobile will wear the number 36 jersey for Paris Saint-Germain. Multiple media outlets have also reported that the deal did not involve any transfer fee.
Ciro Immobile has been sidelined with injuries since joining Bologna in July 2025, making only nine appearances to date. His last appearance for Bologna was on January 25th this year in the Serie A Round 22 match against Genoa, but he failed to score or assist.
In stark contrast to his recent slump, Immobile was once a leading figure during Lazio's golden era. He reached his peak during his eight-year stint with the Biancocelesti, making 240 appearances, scoring 207 goals and providing 54 assists, leading the team to one Coppa Italia title and two Italian Super Cup titles.
Besides Bologna and Lazio, Immobile has also played for Juventus, Siena, Grosseto, Pescara, Genoa, Torino, Borussia Dortmund, Sevilla, Lazio, and Besiktas, among others. At the national team level, he has made 57 appearances for Italy since 2014, contributing 17 goals and 8 assists, and was a key member of the Azzurri's 2021 European Championship victory.
Regarding Ciro Immobile's arrival, Paris FC sporting director Marco Nepe said: "We are delighted to welcome Ciro Immobile to Paris FC. Ciro is a true competitor, a striker with countless goals throughout his career. Most importantly, he will bring a wealth of experience, a unique personality, and charisma to the team and the club. He is a valuable asset to the club, and we wish him all the best at Paris FC."
