Scottish Premier League powerhouse Rangers officially announced the appointment of Danny Röhl as the new head coach, and the two sides signed a two-and-a-half-year contract.
The 35-year-old German coach has extensive experience in top European coaching. He has played for RB Leipzig, Bayern Munich and the German national team. During his time at Bayern Munich, he won the Bundesliga, German Cup and Champions League treble with the team.
In 2023, Rolle took charge of Sheffield Wednesday for the first time and led the team from the bottom of the Championship to miraculous relegation, demonstrating outstanding tactical and leadership skills.
In his first interview since taking office, Rohr made it clear that he has only one goal: winning. "Winning is the most important thing," Rohr said. "We don't have much time, but I won't use that as an excuse. We know where we are and where we need to go."
“We need to press high, maintain intensity, and be consistent in both attack and defense. Every player must actively fight for the ball, create more chances and goals. Fans don’t want to see draws or small wins, they want to see exciting wins, and this is what we strive for.”
Facing the fierce competition in the Scottish Premier League, Rohr said that he and the team are ready for the challenge: "This is a high-intensity league, but I believe our squad can cope with all kinds of difficulties. Rangers is a big club that should control the game."
"I've learned a lot playing at the highest level and wanted to join a team with ambition, which Rangers fits. We want to start winning trophies as soon as possible, not in two or three years. The club's desire to win is why I chose this place."
Rohr will lead the team to an away game against SK Brann this Thursday, marking his first match in the Europa League and starting a new journey for Rangers.
