Rodrigo Gomes is confident Wolves can quickly convert their recent Premier League draw into a win. The team is in a strong position ahead of this week's away game against Sunderland. As one of only seven senior players remaining at Compton Park during the international break, Rodrigo Gomes is preparing alongside several under-21 players.  

Although Rodrigo Gomez admitted that the team's preparations for this weekend's game had been affected by the absence of first-team players from training, he was confident that the players would return in a positive state and that the team would be able to build on its recent good performances.  

"This week is different from the previous ones, especially for me because it's the first time I've worked in this way," said Rodrigo Gomes. "Last year I was selected for the Under-21 national team, but now I've grown and my goal is to work hard to get into the Portugal first team."  

“ The circumstances were different and it wasn’t probably the ideal way to prepare for the match, but I thought we performed extremely well. Everyone gave their all and that was our primary goal, so we are constantly improving. We are constantly trying different things while also maintaining a certain number of players as we have been training with the U21s. This not only helps us but also gives the younger players the opportunity to improve with us.”  

“I remember when I was their age I really appreciated the chance to train with the first team. So this is a great moment for them as well, to train with us and show us and the coaches what they can do.”  

"But for us, the situation is indeed different. With a smaller number of players, we can try some different training content and focus on the parts that we usually have difficulty in focusing on. Although it is not an ideal way to prepare for the game, we have done our best to improve ourselves."  

Regarding the players' recovery after the international matches, he said: "For me, it is very important that the players return to prepare for this game. This game is very important for us and we must strive to win. Although there are many games to come, we will do our best to prepare. Even if there are only 6 to 10 players available, we will do our best. It would be better if all the players can play, but the current situation is acceptable."  

"It's not the ideal start for me, but I've scored two goals and I'm very happy. But I hope to do more, score more goals, play more games, and provide more assists. I'm working hard for this and giving my all every day to prove myself."  

"Every day, whether in training or in a match, I give my all. Whether I play the full 90 minutes or just nine, I maintain the same level of commitment. This is my style, I always give my all, while also being aware that I need to constantly improve my game. We have a very good squad and every player has to fight for their place. We made some adjustments during the game, which is normal because we are constantly exploring the best game strategy and way to win."  

"We have improved our performance in recent games. Although we failed to win both games and ended up drawing, getting a point is better than losing. We must stay focused and maintain our current level until the very end. We are in good shape, training hard, and our level of play is steadily improving. This is our main goal. As long as we maintain this momentum and keep improving, we will be able to win more games."
