The Athletic's resident renowned English Aston Villa team correspondent Jacob Tanswell, reported exclusively on Thursday that Feyenoord's Netherlands U19s international forward Zépiqueno Redmond will officially join Aston Villa on July 1.

According to Tanswell, Redmond flew to Birmingham with his family and agent last week to meet with Aston Villa's Sporting Director Monchi and quickly reached an agreement.

Although Redmond, who will be leaving the club when his contract expire this summer, joined the Villans as a free agent, because the player is under 21 years old, according to FIFA's transfer rules, Aston Villa must pay Feyenoord a youth compensation fee.

The Premier League powerhouse is expected to pay Feyenoord a compensation fee of €1 to €2.5 million to sign Redmond.

At the same time, Tanswell also added that Aston Villa may be forced not to trigger the buyout clause of Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford due to the lack of qualification for the UEFA Champions League next season and the restrictions of the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

He said that in the absence of the huge profits that the Champions League can bring, in order to avoid violating the PSR, Villans have doubts about paying Manchester United the £40 million required to sign Rashford.

Unless the Red Devils are willing to lower the asking price or allow the club to complete the transfer in a new installment method, Aston Villa is likely to give up buying out Rashford's ownership.
