Real Betis defeated Girona with a 1-3 away win on matchday 32 of the 2024/25 La Liga season at the Estadi Montilivi on Monday.

In the first half, Cardoso scored with a header, Antony scored with a half-volley, and Isco also scored with a header. In the second half, Stuani scored with his supplementary shot. In the end, Real Betis defeated Girona with a 1-3 away win. After this round of games, Girona is temporarily 16th on the table with 34 points, only 3 points away from the relegation zone; Betis is temporarily 6th with 51 points, and continues to fight for a Champions League spot.

First Half

In the 6th minute, Real Betis got a deadly corner kick opportunity. Isco took the corner by crossing it into the box. Johnny Cardoso rose high and scored with a header. Real Betis broke the deadlock early and to take a 0-1 lead!

In the 28th minute, Girona launched a quick counterattack. Isco made a mistake while controlling the ball in his own back half. Arthur Melo intercepted the ball and made a straight pass from the right wing. Yáser Asprilla quickly followed up, got the ball, dribbled and cuts into the center of the box before volleying with his left foot, but his shot was saved by Adrián.

In the 39th minute, Romain Perraud crossed into the box from the left wing. Antony quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, volleyed the ball into the bottom left corner of the net with his right foot from the center of the box. Real Betis expanded its lead to 0-2! This is the fifth goal Manchester United player had scored after joining Betis on-loan in January!

3 minutes later, Abde Ezzalzouli crossed from the left side of the box. Isco quickly followed up and scored a header in the box. Real Betis quickly expanded its lead to 0-3! This is the 10th goal scored by the former Real Madrid player in all competitions this season!

At the end of the first half, Girona was already trailing far behind Real Betis by 0-3 as they entered the half-time break.

Second Half

Both teams switched sides as the match continued. In the 49th minute, Real Betis got a free kick opportunity. Antony took the free kick by crossing it into the box from outside the penalty area. Abde Ezzalzouli quickly followed up, stopped the ball and adjusted his angle, before volleying with his right foot from the right side of the box, but his shot was saved by Paulo Gazzaniga.

6 minutes later, Daley Blind made a straight pass from the left wing. Portu quickly followed up, got the ball, dribbled into the left side of the box before volleying with his right foot against the outrushing Adrián, but his shot was initially saved by the latter before being blocked off the goal line by Natan. Girona missed a golden opportunity to pull a goal back!

In the 62nd minute, Pablo Fornals made a long pass from his own back half. After beating successfully beating the offside trap, Antony quickly followed up, got the ball, dribbled into the left side of the box before volleying with his right foot against the outrushing Gazzaniga. His shot initially was blocked by the latter's outstretched legs and cleared off not far away. After quickly quickly following up and picking up the loose ball, Cucho Hernández made a left-footed supplementary shot at a very close distance in the box, but his shot was blocked by Gazzaniga's outstretched legs.

10 minutes later, Giovanni Lo Celso passed back horizontally from the edge of the byline at the left wing. Abde stopped the ball and adjusted his angle before making a long shot with his right foot at the edge of the penalty area, but his shot was saved by Gazzaniga.

In the 79th minute, Portu passes horizontally from the right wing. After stopping the ball and adjusted his angle, Donny van de Beek made a long shot with his right foot at the edge of the penalty area, but his shot went just slightly higher than the crossbar.
