On September 26th, the Portland Trail Blazers completed a roster reinforcement before the preseason. According to HoopsHype reporter Michael Scotto, the Trail Blazers officially signed former Thunder and 76ers forward Alex Reese.

Reese, 26 , went undrafted in the 2021 NBA Draft, but he hasn't given up on basketball. He's already had two stints with the Trail Blazers. In 2023, he played for the team's G League affiliate , Rip City Remix, where he appeared in 32 games, averaging 13.2 points, 5 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks in just 18.7 minutes.

During his second stint, Reese's improvement was even more pronounced. Last season, he appeared in 16 games, 15 of which were starts, averaging 19.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 1.3 steals while shooting 50% from the field and 42.1% from three-point range . His well-rounded and efficient performance gradually garnered him attention.

As a player trained by the University of Alabama, Reese played a total of 124 games in his four years in college, averaging 6.1 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. Although he was not considered a star player at the time, he gradually proved himself in the professional arena through hard work.

The Trail Blazers haven't yet clarified Reese's specific role for the upcoming season, but as the team becomes competitive under Chauncey Billups, Reese is expected to provide outside shooting and frontcourt depth.
