Liverpool drew 2-2 with Borussia Dortmund in the 2026 charity fundraising Legends game at Anfield on Saturday.

In the first half, Thiago scored with a close-range shot, and Spearing added with a stunning long-range strike. In the second half, Zidan opened the scoring by volleying the ball into the net. At a crucial moment, Koller scored with a header. Ultimately Liverpool and Dortmund drew 2-2 in this significant match.

First Half

In the 6th minute, Ryan Babel made a straight pass down the right flank. Thiago Alcântara quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, shoved the ball into the bottom left corner of the net past the outrushing Roman Weidenfeller from a very close range in the box, giving Liverpool an early 1-0 lead!

2 minutes later, Thiago made an overhead diagonal pass from the attacking third. After beating the offside trap, Steven Gerrard quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, half-volleyed with his right foot from the right side of the box, but his shot was saved by Weidenfeller.

In the 15th minute, Babel passed the ball back from the left side of the box. Gerrard quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, volleyed with his left foot from the center of the box, but his shot was blocked by Jörg Heinrich.

3 minutes later, Gerrard crossed into the box from the right wing. Thiago quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, volleyed with his right foot from the center of the box, but his shot was blocked by Weidenfeller's outstretched legs.

In the 24th minute, Jan Koller passes back from the attacking third. Mohamed Zidan quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, took a right-footed long shot from outside the penalty area, but his shot was blocked by Martin Skrtel.

Liverpool extended their lead to 2-0! The Liverpool U21s assistant coach finally made up for his long-standing regret of not scoring for the Reds' first-team!

In the 42nd minute, Thiago passes horizontally from the attacking third. Ragnall Klavan quickly followed up, got the ball and took a few steps before volleying with his left foot from the left side of the box, but his shot was saved by Weidenfeller.

At halftime, Liverpool temporarily leads Borussia Dortmund by 2-0.

Second Half

In the 81st minute, Moritz Leitner delivered a crossed into the box from the left wing, where Jan Koller rose high and headed the ball into the net, leveling the score at 2-2 for Dortmund against Liverpool!

When the final whistle is but blown, Liverpool drew 2-2 with Borussia Dortmund.
