The Minnesota Timberwolves will travel to the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round of the 2025/26 NBA regular season, and Anthony Edwards said he aims to be even more powerful and make all opponents unable to stop him on the court.
In the 2024/25 season, Anthony Edwards played 79 games for the Minnesota Timberwolves, averaging 27.6 points per game, 44.7% shooting and 39.5% three-point shooting.
Anthony Edwards, the 24-year-old shooting guard, said of the challenges of the new season, "There's no way we can make it to the finals without surpassing Luka Dončić or Gilgeous-Alexander. I have to keep improving, that's the main thing. I just want them to say 'We can't defend him', really can't defend this player."
"Please don't worry, I will make it happen. I will become fast and strong enough that no one can stop me."
Additionally, Minnesota Timberwolves assistant coach Chris Hines said, "I think Anthony Edwards sees what guys like Gilgeous-Alexander and Luka Dončić have accomplished, as well as Jayson Tatum. He wants to be at that level, too, and hopefully be ranked alongside them, or even surpass them."
"He has to play like chess, not checkers. That's how he becomes unstoppable. I told him I'll help him hone all his weapons, but he has to learn to use the right weapon at the right time."
