Arsenal announced on Tuesday that they have completed a contract extension with 24-year-old French central defender William Saliba. The new contract is expected to extend the contract by three years, from the original expiration date of 2027 to June 30, 2030.

Saliba joined Arsenal for €30 million in 2019 and has made 140 appearances for the club, scoring seven goals and providing three assists. He also helped the club reach the quarter-finals of the 2023/24 Champions League and won two Community Shield titles.

According to TA's David Ornstein, Saliba will receive a salary increase after the contract extension. His weekly salary is expected to increase from the original 190,000 pounds to 250,000 pounds, second only to Kai Havertz's 280,000 pounds and Gabriel Jesus' 265,000 pounds.

Regarding Saliba's contract extension, Arsenal Sporting Director Andrea Berta commented: "We are very pleased that Willian has chosen to entrust his future to us and become an important part of the team building. Over the past three seasons, Willian has grown into an outstanding defender. His ability to withstand pressure, tactical intelligence and physical fitness have also made him among the best in the world. He will continue to develop and strive for new heights at Arsenal."

Saliba said after the renewal: "I am proud of myself. I originally signed in 2019, and now it is 2025 and I am still here to renew the contract. I am very happy about this."
