Valencia CF manager Carlos Colberán gave a media interview after the Mestalla Stadium match ended in a 1-1 draw against Real Mallorca.  

Carlos Colberán said: "Obviously, we should have gotten more than one point. If you analyze the whole game, Valencia was undoubtedly the better team, but they also created some chances. We started the game a little slowly and failed to fully control the tempo."  

"Nevertheless, the team still controlled the game relatively well and kept looking for attacking opportunities. The opponents took the lead through set pieces, winning free kicks in midfield or further forward. From that moment until they changed formation in the last 15 minutes, we showed a firm determination. We created many chances, maintained a positive attacking posture, and scored enough points to win, but ultimately only managed a draw."  

"When the opponent switched to a five-defender formation, the game situation changed. We immediately made an adjustment, moving Arnault Danjuma to the left wing, and the team found a breakthrough again. Although we gradually missed some scoring opportunities, the opponent also created a few chances. Overall, the team tried its best to get three points, but unfortunately we only got one in the end."  

“In the past six La Liga matches over the past few weeks, I have seen significant improvement in the team. This improvement is mainly reflected in the performance on the field, but not yet in the results. We need to improve in both aspects: on the one hand, we need to improve our performance on the field to achieve better results, and on the other hand, we cannot only focus on performance, because the ultimate goal is to win the game.”  

“Some details caused the team to suffer, and we must improve certain aspects to achieve better results, with defending set pieces being key. We need to analyze these details to understand the reasons and identify which aspects need improvement, correction, or focused attention. Most importantly, I think the team needs to improve its game awareness, become more mature, and fully understand the situation it faces.”  

“I’m not sure how many corners each side won, but I noticed the team focused more on creating chances and scoring, and we applied a lot of attacking pressure. Nevertheless, we failed to capitalize on many set-piece opportunities, which is a problem and an area that needs improvement. The team must improve on both the defensive and offensive fronts to continue progressing.”
