In the first leg of the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League semi-finals, Arsenal, at the Emirates Stadium, lost to the French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain 0-1 after Merino's goal was ruled out after falling behind by one goal.

Four minutes into the game, Dembele organized an attack, Kvaratskhelia dribbled into the penalty area and passed the ball back, Dembele received the ball and shot it in, helping Paris Saint-Germain to open the scoring with a 1-0 lead.
