Official: Stuttgart signs Rennes right-back Lorenz Assinion on a 4-year contract

Stuttgart issued a statement on Friday, announcing that the 24-year-old Rennes right-back Lorenz Assinion has officially joined. Both parties signed a four-year contract, valid until June 30, 2029.
There are also reports that Assinion's transfer fee is 12 million euros.
Regarding Assignon's arrival, Stuttgart's sports director Christian Gentner said: "With his excellent footwork and abundant physical strength, Lorenz fits our style of play very well. In recent years, he has demonstrated his strength in both Ligue 1 and the Premier League and accumulated valuable experience. Lorenz has already reached a very high competitive level, and we believe that he can take an important step in his career here. We look forward to his arrival and will welcome him with Stuttgart-style enthusiasm."
Lorenz Assinión was born in Grasse, France in 2000 and has dual French and Togolese citizenship. He came from Rennes youth training and made his debut in Ligue 1 for the first team on September 12, 2021.
To date, Assignon has played 98 times for Les Halles, scoring 7 goals and providing 11 assists. He was also loaned to Bastia and Burnley, during which time he played in 13 French Ligue 3 games and 15 Premier League games, contributing 2 goals and 4 assists.
After completing the medical examination, Assinion said in a statement: "I am very happy to play for Stuttgart. Stuttgart is a club with a deep heritage and very passionate fans. I have watched their games many times on TV and I like their style of play. I look forward to the upcoming challenges and hope to contribute to Stuttgart's future success."
