Curry builds confidence with his personal style and strength. He admits he once longed for a stronger physique.

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry revealed in his new book that he once longed for a stronger physique, but through accepting and honing his qualities, he ultimately built up the confidence and brought himself to his current position.

In the 2024/25 NBA regular season, Stephen Curry played 70 games for the Golden State Warriors, averaging 24.5 points per game, 44.8 shooting percentage and 39.7% 3-point shooting percentage. In addition, Stephen Curry has previously won four NBA championships.

Stephen Curry, now 37, said, "To this day, I still sometimes wish I could be a more pressure-prone player. In the NBA, there are a lot of players who are stronger, faster, more athletic, especially defensive players, who always do their best to put me in trouble on the court."

"It might distract me, but it doesn't change anything. I am a player with my own abilities. Do I want to drive to the basket and dunk every time I dribble? Of course I do."

Stephen Curry also said, "But I found that there are actually things more important than talent. If no one told me that I was too thin and could not pose a threat on the court, then I might not have built up the confidence I have today."

“I had to develop positive self-talk to encourage myself because there were so many voices out there telling me I couldn’t do it.”
