Arsenal lost 0-1 to Liverpool in their third match of the 2025/26 Premier League season after a second-half free kick. Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta said that while they couldn't secure victory, he believed Arsenal displayed remarkable dominance and played at a very high level.

Near the end of the second half, Soboslai took a free kick and scored directly, giving Liverpool a 1-0 lead.

Arsenal were unable to score in the following period and eventually lost 0-1 to Liverpool away from home.

Arsenal manager Arteta said, “We are all disappointed with the result. I think we deserved more. The team showed a lot of good performances throughout the game. In such a difficult place, we showed dominance. I think we raised the game to a very high level.”

In addition, Arsenal defender Saliba was injured in the first half of the game, and Arsenal then arranged for the 21-year-old new signing Mosquera to replace Saliba.

Arteta said: "It was not easy to be substituted in after Saliba was injured and to participate in the game at Anfield, but he performed very well. I think it takes sincerity and personality to achieve such a performance. As we said, with the help of the whole team, I think he played very well."
