English midfielder Elliott has joined Aston Villa on a season-long loan from Liverpool. He said he is looking forward to becoming a better player through playing at Aston Villa and is grateful for the warm welcome from manager Unai Emery.
In the 2024/25 season, Elliott played 28 times for Liverpool in all competitions, contributed 5 goals, and won the Premier League title with Liverpool. During his time with Liverpool, Elliott also won two English League Cups, one European Super Cup and one World Club Cup.
In terms of the national team, Elliott also helped England U21 win the European U21 Football Championship, which was the second time Elliott won the championship.
"It feels incredible," said the 22-year-old. "I want to thank everyone who made this happen. It's every kid's dream to play for a big club like Aston Villa. I'm so happy it's happened and I'm looking forward to getting started."
"Now is the time to move on as a player. The only way to do that is to play more games, and here is the best place, especially with this manager, Emery, with his philosophy, tactics and his trust in young players. I also admire his personal achievements. I have communicated with him and I was deeply moved by his attitude and welcome towards me. He gave me this welcome before I was even a player at Aston Villa, which made me more determined."
Elliott added: "When you come to Villa Park, you see how passionate the fans are and how strong the team's tactics are. It's really hard to play here, but now I have the opportunity to be a part of it, and I can't refuse."
Elliott continued, "I'm looking forward to working with the manager. What he said to me touched my heart and made me want to come here and play for him. I want to give my all for him because he believed in me and brought me to this club when he could have chosen any player in the world."
"The only way I can repay him now is to play my hardest and give it my all on the court."
