Everton Women head coach Brian Sorensen has signed a two-year contract extension until June 2027.
The Danish coach has led Everton Women's Football Team to steady progress since taking charge in April 2022, and a tactical style centered on ball possession has gradually taken shape. In the first full season, Everton was brought to sixth place in the English Women's Super League, and the team is currently striving for fifth place, showing a stable and positive growth curve.
After the official signing, Sorensen accepted an interview and expressed his deep feelings for the club and his vision for the future. Sorensen said: "I am very happy to renew this contract. My family and I have settled down in this city."
"I am full of anticipation every day when I walk into the training base. I am very happy to continue to stay. I have communicated with the club's new owner and we both hope to bring long-term stability to the team. The primary goal is to build a competitive lineup while continuing to strengthen the coaching team and the overall operation system."
Since the beginning of 2024, Everton Women's Football Team has maintained a hot state, and has repeatedly faced strong opponents in the league without losing, including successfully snatching points from Manchester City and Arsenal. Sorensen is pleased with this and said: "We hope to be one of the most dynamic teams in the Premier League, both in offense and defense."
“The gap between us and the top teams is gradually narrowing and the players’ confidence is also increasing. If we can further strengthen the squad and learn from the experience of this season, I believe we will become stronger.”
