Ian Maatsen is confident Aston Villa will face their three remaining Premier League games this season, starting with Sunday's trip to Bournemouth. Aston Villa are battling for a top-five finish and are aware they must keep the pressure on the teams above them as the season draws to a close.  

Aston Villa drew 1-1 with Bournemouth in the first leg back in October and Ian Maatsen expects them to be tough opponents again.  

Ian Maatsen said: "They are a very good team with many good players and we have to stay focused. Away games are always challenging but I am sure if we stay consistent and execute our game plan we can get the result we want."  

"I feel positive, confident, empowered and hopefully we can finish the season well. We only have three games left and I'm really excited."  

The player has made 42 appearances in all competitions since joining from Chelsea last summer, and his performances at left-back have shown his quality. Reflecting on his first season at the club, Ian Maatsen said: "There have been ups and downs, but overall it has been a very exciting season."  

"I've played a lot of games and I'm really happy. I just want to keep going and finish the season strong. The games at Villa Park gave me positive energy and the fans were really good. The atmosphere on a Champions League night is just as good as a Premier League game."
