Jack Grealish may be one of the most eye-catching players in the Premier League this season, but the Everton number 18 insists that his already impressive performances still have room for improvement. The player, who joined Everton on loan from Manchester City, scored his first goal of the season in the previous game against Crystal Palace and scored the winning goal in the final moments of the game to help the team come back from behind to beat the in-form Crystal Palace 2-1.
He also provided four assists in August, a performance that earned him the Premier League Player of the Month award. He quickly demonstrated his prowess on Merseyside, leading the league in key passes ( 19 ), assists ( 4 ), expected goals per assist ( 2.4 ), dribbles into the box ( 28 ), and progressive dribbles ( 49 ), while also leading the league in touches inside the opposition penalty area ( 48 ).
When asked if his performance can be further improved, Jack Grealish said: "Yes, of course. I know what I can do and I know my abilities, and I hope to give more. So far I have four assists and one goal, and it is already October. Who knows? Hopefully by the end of the season I can create more results and satisfy the fans."
Everton earned all three points last time out, extending their unbeaten run at the Hill Dickinson Stadium to five games, including victories against Crystal Palace, West Ham United, Aston Villa, Mansfield Town and Brighton.
Reflecting on his excellent start to the season at the new stadium, Jack Grealish said: "It's very important. I think to do well in the Premier League you have to make your home ground a fortress that's difficult for opponents to break through, and we have done that this season. We are unbeaten here, which is exciting. Hopefully we can continue this momentum because that's what we are looking for. We want to make it difficult for the opponent to attack. With the support of the fans, this is just as it should be."
Scoring his first goal in an Everton shirt was an exciting moment for the fan-favorite newcomer and a long-time goal. He said: "It's great. It's really exciting to score a goal here. We've been drawing in the last few games here, and around the 85th minute I kept telling myself to keep going and score."
"I did it against Aston Villa and West Ham United but couldn't score. Today I told myself to keep working hard and finally I scored. I ran to the stand where my parents were and I was so excited. This goal is dedicated to all the Everton fans who welcomed me so warmly."
