Thieno Barry said his equalizer against Leeds United on Monday was the result of daily hard work at Finch Farm training ground. The Everton striker slotted home from near the post in the 76th minute at Hill Dickinson Stadium, his fourth goal in five games.  

After James Justin opened the scoring in the first half, this goal helped Everton secure a point. After the match, Thieno Barry, reflecting on the goal, said: "I saw James Garner positioned himself well and could cross. I focused on the game and then easily put the ball in."  

“I played in Spain last season, so the competitive environment in the Premier League is different. I just need to train hard every day and be ready to play. I’ve been training every day this week, so I’m very happy with my form.”  

Thieno Barry appeared alongside James Garner in a post-match interview, with Garner praising Everton's improved performance in the second half. The team's squad has been strengthened, with the return of Africa Cup of Nations winners James Garner and Iliman Ndiaye, while Jarard Branswain, Kiernan Dieusbury-Hall, and Charlie Alcaraz, who had previously missed the match due to hamstring injuries, have also returned to the pitch.  

James Garner said: "I think we played a bit loosely in the first half and weren't fully in the game yet, so we had to make adjustments in the second half, and the coach did make those changes."  

"He brought on two substitutes, and that was evident in the second half. We are a more competitive team and should have won the game. The coach wanted to speed up the pace of the game, and because we lost many second balls in midfield, he made slight adjustments to the formation, aiming for a better overall performance in the second half."  

James Garner signed a new four-and-a-half-year contract with Everton last week, tying his future to the club long-term. He played the full 90 minutes in the match against Leeds United, managed by Daniel Falk.  

Finally, James Garner added: "We have to accept the result and move on. We need to show the same performance at home. We played well away, so we need to bring that form back home and try to get points here."
