Jarrod Bowen believes the team has proven they are capable of winning in different ways.

West Ham United secured a convincing 3-1 victory over Sunderland at London Stadium, extending their winning streak to three matches across all competitions. After the game, Jarrod Bowen praised the team's performance. Previously, West Ham had defeated Queens Park Rangers 2-1 in the FA Cup third round and also beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 after returning to the top flight. Against Sunderland, West Ham started strongly, with Cricenceo Somerville heading in a cross from Jarrod Bowen in the 14th minute, scoring his third goal in three matches.

After the game, Jarrod Bowen said, "A three-game winning streak is undoubtedly encouraging, and it's a very positive situation for the team. But as I've emphasized many times, everything is in our own hands, and we must give our all in the game and perform as we should. We've done that over the past few weeks, and I think the team has proven that we have the ability to win games in different ways."

“We played very well in the first half, but we knew that our opponents would definitely strengthen their counter-attacks in the second half, which is a normal occurrence in any game. Just like last week against Tottenham Hotspur, after taking a 1-0 lead, we needed to show another side of the game, which was key to defensive focus and how to avoid conceding goals. Although we didn’t manage a clean sheet, overall we controlled the game. The team showed a strong desire to win in attack, and at the same time made significant progress in defense. Overall, there were still many positive aspects.”

This victory not only further boosted West Ham United's confidence but also narrowed the gap with 17th-placed Nottingham Forest to two points. However, Nottingham Forest will face Brentford away on Sunday. Meanwhile, Jarrod Bowen's goal and assist in this match brought his total to 63 goals and 40 assists, making him West Ham United's all-time leading scorer in Premier League history, surpassing Michael Antonio.

With just five goals to go to break Mikael Antonio's record of 68 league goals, a beaming Jarrod Bowen said: "It feels amazing. Personal milestones are really meaningful, even though sometimes you don't fully realize they exist. Right now, my only clear focus is on the goal record, and I'm very close to it, so I will continue to work towards that goal."

“I consider myself a traditional and tough player who gives his all every time I take the field. I’m eager to contribute to the team through goals and assists. Of course, more than personal statistics, given the current league situation, I hope to help the team achieve its desired results and improve its position in the standings.”

With the team's morale high, Jarrod Bowen stated that he and his teammates are already looking forward to next weekend's London derby against Chelsea, viewing it as a crucial step towards finally escaping the relegation zone. Furthermore, the 29-year-old striker specifically praised the match's Man of the Match, Matthäus Fernandez. Despite being only 21, the young player has already demonstrated impressive consistency.

Jarrod Bowen added: "Before the game, I told my teammates that we need to be a winning team, to pursue a winning streak and maintain consistency, because truly strong teams never let up. Top teams give their all in every game and can win in different ways, so we must continue to work in that direction. We have done that in the past few weeks, and most importantly, we have won. Hopefully, this good momentum can continue, and we will definitely do our best to win against Chelsea."

“I’m really happy for Matthäus Fernández. He’s shown tremendous confidence in his shooting, and I’ve been encouraging him to take more shots because some of his goals in the pre-season friendlies were fantastic. He scored in the first half and almost scored a goal in the second half that could be considered the best of the season. He’s incredibly talented, physically fit, and far more mature than his peers. He’s providing a huge boost to the team right now, and I hope he can continue in this form.”
