Le Havre announced on its official website on Thursday that the club has signed Japan international defender Ayumu Seko from Grasshopper Zurich.
According to the Ligue 1 club's official statement, Ayumu has signed on a short-term two-year deal with the club which will only run until the summer of 2027.
About Ayumu Seko
The 25-year-old Ayumu Seko was born on June 7, 2000 in Osaka, Japan. He is 1.85 meters tall and primarily plays as a center back, but can also play as a defensive midfielder.
Ayumu joined the Cerezo Osaka youth academy at the age of 10, began playing for its U23s team in 2016 and completed his Cerezo Osaka first-team debut in a Japanese League Cup match by coming on as a substitute in May 2017. He was only 16 years old at the time.
During his four-year spell at Cerezo Osaka, Ayumu was selected as the J1 League's Best New Player of the Year in 2020.
In January 2022, Ayumu joined Grasshopper Zurich for €450,000.
During his three-year spell with Grasshopper, Ayumu played 126 times for the Swiss Super League powerhouse in all competitions, scored 4 goals, assisted 2 times, and reached the Swiss Cup round of 16s twice with the club.
