Lee Carsley believes England U21 can beat Spain as they must continue to create chances

The quarterfinals of the 2025 European Under-21 Football Championship will be a highlight, with England U21 facing Spain U21. Lee Carsley said he does not think England U21 is at a disadvantage and firmly believes that the team can beat Spain as long as they keep creating opportunities.
In the previous group match, England U21 lost 1-2 to Germany after Alex Scott scored a goal when they were leading by 2 goals, but advanced to the quarterfinals as the second place in the group.
England U21 coach Lee Carsley said in an interview, "I don't think we are the disadvantaged side. If we can play to our due level, then we have a very good chance of winning this game."
"Spain are a strong team and anyone who has followed us in the past few tournaments knows that to win the title you have to beat all the top teams."
It is worth mentioning that England U21 defeated Spain U21 1-0 in the final of the 2023 U21 Football Championship with Jones scoring a goal and successfully won the championship.
Lee Carsley said, "I have great respect for Spain. The final a few years ago was very close and the outcome could have fallen on either side. We scored a lucky goal in that game and the overall performance was actually quite satisfactory. But if we want to continue to advance now, we must play better."
"The hardest thing is of course to score a goal. Maybe we just lack a little bit of luck, even if it is a goal in a melee. The most important thing is that we have to continue to create opportunities, continue to run to the right position, and believe that the ball will eventually fall to our feet, and I believe we can do it."
