Lens announced on its official website on Wednesday that the club has signed Mali international midfielder Mamadou Sangaré from Rapid Vienna.
According to the Ligue 1 club's official statement m the Ligue 1 club, Sangaré has signed on a long-term five-year deal which runs until the summer of 2030. He will also wear the number 8 jersey.
About Mamadou Sangaré
Mamadou Sangaré, 23, was born on June 26, 2002, in Bamako, the capital of Mali. He is 1.78 meters tall and plays as a center midfielder.
Sangaré played for the youth academy of local Malian club Yeelen Olympique as a child. After graduating in 2020, he joined Red Bull Salzburg but was immediately loaned-out to their satellite team, Liefering.
From the following summer until the summer of 2022, Sangaré was loaned-out to Grazer AK and Zulte Waregem.
In the summer of 2023, Sangaré was loaned-out to Hartberg.
In July 2024, Sangaré joined Rapid Vienna for €1 million.
Last season, Sangaré made 50 appearances for the Austrian Bundesliga powerhouse in all competitions, scoring three goals and providing three assists, helping the club reach the UEFA Conference League quarter-finals.
