Head coach Marcelino García Toral expressed his regret over the red card shown in the match. He said, "The two teams were evenly matched, and the outcome depended on some small details. I'm very sorry about the red card. We created some chances in the first half, and they also had dangerous moments, especially from set pieces. They had more possession, but we kept fighting."  

"In the second half, the opponent scored a goal, but we responded quickly, and Tajon got a one-on-one opportunity. We created several threats and had chances to equalize. But then we made a mistake and had a player sent off. In football, having a player sent off usually means the game becomes much more difficult. It's a real shame, because there was still a long game ahead."  

Marcelino emphasized that the red card could have been avoided. He stated, "The players performed well overall, and I'm satisfied with that. But losing makes me very sad, and the key is that we must avoid playing with one less player. We've faced this situation four times this season, and it absolutely cannot happen again. Real Betis has excellent players; you can't give them any chances. They took their chances, and we congratulate them."  

Finally, Marcelino declined to comment on Comesaña's foul on Lo Celso. He stated, "I didn't see it clearly, but it was obviously avoidable. The referee showed a red card, and we respect his decision. In the first half, a collision by a Real Betis player resulted in Alfonso Pedraza suffering a fractured nasal septum, but unfortunately, the referee didn't make any ruling at the time."
