Villarreal manager Marcelino García Toral spoke to the media this week before the start of the team's training session, previewing the upcoming La Liga match against Barcelona in the 17th round.  

When asked about how the team coped with their recent two defeats, Marcelino said: "Defeat is always frustrating, especially when the result doesn't meet our goals. But losing doesn't negate us; instead, it reminds us to calmly examine our shortcomings and identify the areas where we need to improve."  

"The most important thing now is to put aside all negative emotions and prepare fully for the next game. We know the strength of this team, and all the statistics support that. I am very aware of the players' hard work, ability and professionalism, and I am genuinely proud of them."  

"When the team wins, people usually only focus on the positive performance; but when they lose, people talk about the team's shortcomings. In recent games, our failure to win has been mainly due to a lack of ability to seize opportunities inside and outside the penalty area. We must remain humble about this, face the problems squarely, and strive to improve and learn. But at the same time, we are also the team with the fewest goals conceded in La Liga. Indeed, when we are behind, we are often eager to equalize. As a young team, we still need to accumulate experience and improve our maturity in dealing with such situations."  

"Facing Barcelona will be a very challenging match, and we hope to compete in top form. Barcelona is the highest-scoring team in the league, which means we need to put in a sustained physical effort. We must give it our all, play at our highest level, be proud of our performance after the game, and strive for the desired result."
