Sevilla FC head coach Mattias Almeida attended the pre-match press conference to prepare for the upcoming game against Atletico Madrid.  

At the press conference, Matthias Almeida said: "We will do our best to accomplish what has not been achieved in 17 years and take three points away from home. This is a very challenging goal, and we know the strength of our opponents, both in terms of individual ability and their head coach, which means it will be a tough game."  

"I haven't finalized the team's tactics yet, although we've done extensive research on our opponents. However, training time is limited due to the midweek match. The starting lineup will be determined before the game, and reverting to a five-defender formation is also a viable option."  

Matthias Almeida added: “For us, every game is like a final. We can’t afford to be complacent; we have to put in three times the effort to compete, as you’ve seen in the cup competitions. I’m very happy with the players because they all give their all. We take on the responsibility with great enthusiasm and desire, striving to break our long-standing slump.”  

“Cesar and Mendy have trained for two days, and we will monitor their physical condition. They are not currently experiencing any discomfort, but due to their absence for some time, we need to carefully assess their condition, so the next steps have not yet been decided.”  

The Argentine coach emphasized: "These are the most exciting matches. If I were a player, I would be really looking forward to them because the whole world will be watching. Our opponents are an excellent coach with many years of experience. He has invested heavily in developing top players and has a world championship record. I hope to test my strength and understand our level by playing against these teams. If I ultimately fail to achieve my goal, I may have to keep working hard and fight for another 17 years."  

Speaking about Fabio Cardoso's absence from training, he said, "Fabio Cardoso experienced some discomfort during training, and we are conducting a medical evaluation to determine his availability. We are also monitoring Alexis Sanchez's condition, as he hopes to return as soon as possible. Lucien Agoume currently has a minor injury, but due to his suspension from accumulated yellow cards, we are not expecting him to play."
