Metz announced on its official website on Saturday that the club has bought out the rights of on-loan Gabon international defender Michel Mboula from Şanlıurfaspor.

According to Metz's official statement, Mboula has signed on a three-year contract with the club which runs until the summer of 2028.

About Michel Mboula

Michel Mboula, who is only 22 years old, was born on April 30, 2003 in Libreville, the capital of Gabon. He is 1.85 meters tall and primarily plays as a center back. He can also play as a left back or defensive midfielder.

Mboula joined the youth academy of the local Gabonese club Mounana since he was a child. After graduation, he joined Moldovan club Dinamo-Auto Tiraspol in the summer of 2022 and completed his Dinamo-Auto Tiraspol first-team debut in July of the same year.

In March of the following year, Mboula joined Şanlıurfaspor as a free agent.

During his one-and-a-half-year stint at Şanlıurfaspor, Mboula failed to help the TFF Second League club successfully avoid relegation.

On the this year's winter transfer window deadline day, Mboula joined Metz on-loan with an obligation to buy.

Since becoming a member of Les Grenats, Mboula has played 13 times for Metz in all competitions, without scoring any goals or making any assists, and won the Ligue 1 promotion/relegation play-offs with the club.
