The Minnesota Timberwolves announced that they have signed guard Nojel Eastern. Per team policy, the terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Easton, who is 6 feet 5 inches tall, played the past two seasons for the Iowa Wolves of the NBA Development League, performing steadily in 68 games, including 38 starts. Easton averaged 9.8 points (50.4% shooting), 5.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.3 steals per game.

Last season, Easton reached a new career high. In 29 games (23 starts), he averaged 12.9 points, 51.4% shooting percentage, 41.9% three-point shooting percentage, 2.9 assists, 5.4 rebounds and 1.4 steals, showing comprehensive progress on both offense and defense.

Especially in the game against the Stockton Kings on February 8, Easton scored 34 points efficiently, shooting 12 of 15, 5 of 5 three-pointers, plus 5 rebounds and 2 steals, leading the team to a 125-120 victory, which is a masterpiece.

In college, Easten played three years at Purdue University, appearing in 104 games (62 starts) and earning two All-Big Ten Defensive First Team selections (2019 and 2020). He averaged 5.1 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game throughout his college career, and was known for his excellent defense and all-around ability.

This summer, Easton represented the Timberwolves in the 2025 NBA 26K Summer League held in Las Vegas, and started in one of the games he played, scoring 4 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block.

With the addition of Easton, the Timberwolves have added a defensive and playmaking talent to their backcourt rotation. For a team aiming to solidify its playoff competitiveness, this signing not only increases bench depth but also injects vitality and more tactical options into the team.
