Duke University freshman center Khaman Maluach officially announced that he will participate in the 2025 NBA draft, opening a new chapter in his career.

Duke basketball announced the news on social media on Sunday. Maruachi, who is about 218 cm tall and weighs about 113 kg, helped Duke University reach the NCAA Final Four this season and showed amazing potential.

According to NBA regulations, college students must complete the declaration before the deadline, and Maruachi also submitted the registration materials in time on Saturday night. Maruachi is known for his superb finishing ability at the basket and top defense.

Maruachi averaged 8.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game this season, with a shooting percentage of 71.2% and a free throw percentage of 76.6%. He also made 4 three-pointers, showing the possibility of expanding his offensive range, making him a potential rising star that NBA teams are focusing on.

Although Maruachi only scored 6 points and no rebounds in the Duke vs. Houston game, he still won wide recognition for his overall performance this season. However, Maruachi was born in South Sudan.
