Nuno Espirito Santo was delighted with his players' response as Nottingham Forest fought back from a goal down to earn a point in the Premier League against Crystal Palace.
Murillo's second goal of the season helped Nottingham Forest to victory at Selhurst Park, which means the team has only lost one of its last four Premier League away games. This weekend, Nottingham Forest will host Leicester City, who will travel to the City Ground for this Premier League showdown.
Nuno Espirito Santo said he, his team and his players are happy with their current position in the Premier League, but he also stressed that there are still three key games this season to strive for full strength.
"I think we improved in many areas of the game," said Nuno Espirito Santo. "In the first half, we controlled the game, dominated the game, had a lot of possession and were able to limit Palace's counterattacks."
"We didn't create many chances but we did have one clear chance. It was a different story in the second half and it was important how we reacted to the goal, which showed our character and belief."
“We fought until the end and always believed we could achieve more. The boys played really well and although Palace were very compact and difficult to break through, they were always dangerous after recovering, especially on the counter-attack.”
‘We were good in possession and managed to control the midfield, which is a positive. It’s important to react, especially when we’re behind, as it was a big blow for us. After conceding the penalty it was a very difficult situation for us but the reaction was outstanding and we can be very proud of that.
“We are delighted to be playing this game and now we will take it one game at a time, with the next one being against Leicester City at the City Ground.”
