West Ham United have officially announced the successful signing of French international centre-back Axel Disasi on loan from their city rivals Chelsea until the end of the 2025-26 season.

Disasi's arrival undoubtedly injects a strong boost into West Ham United's defense. A veteran with over 300 senior appearances, Disasi boasts an impressive resume. He won the Ligue 2 title with Reims and spent many years in Ligue 1 and European competitions during his time at Monaco.

Most notably, Disasi was selected for the French national team to compete in the 2022 Qatar World Cup, and made a substitute appearance in the final against Argentina, helping the team win the runner-up title.

For Disasi, this loan move is a restart of his career. Since joining Chelsea, his recent situation has not been ideal, with his playing time being reduced.

In the interview, Disasi made no secret of this: "Everyone knows what I've been through these past few months, so all I want to do is get back on the pitch and get back into the game. I've talked to people here, and I can feel that they really need me. I'm ready to fight and to play."

West Ham United's current position in the league standings is not ideal, a fact that Disasi is keenly aware of. He sees it as an exciting challenge and has pledged to give it his all.

“We all know that the club’s current ranking is not what it deserves, but I’m here to help the team and do my best to achieve our goals,” Disasi added.
