Burnley announced on their official website on Tuesday that West Ham United's England international midfielder James Ward-Prowse has joined the club on-loan.
According to Burnley's official statement, Ward-Prowse will play for the club on-loan until the end of the season, and the loan agreement does not include an option to buy.
After completing his transfer, Ward-Prowse, in his first interview with Burnley's official website, said: "I'm very happy to be here. When I learned that Burnley were interested in me and I spoke with the manager, I knew this loan was exactly what I needed."
"There's still a long road ahead until the end of the season, but I'll cherish every moment. I just want to get back on the pitch as soon as possible, wear the Burnley shirt, and give my all for the challenges ahead."
Furthermore, according to The Athletic, Ward-Prowse has been told by manager Nuno Espirito Santo since his first day in charge that he is not in his plans and can only train alone, forbidden from participating in 11-man training matches with anyone in the team. Therefore, the player had already been considering leaving.
