Nottingham Forest officially announced the signing of Brazilian defender Jair Cunha on a five-year contract

Nottingham Forest officially announced on Friday that it has signed Brazilian defender Jair Cunha from Botafogo. The two sides have reached a five-year contract, valid until June 30, 2030.
Jair Cunha will become the sixth Brazilian player to play for Nottingham Forest after Carlos Miguel, Murillo, Morato, Danilo and Igor Jesus. His fixed transfer fee is 12 million euros, plus a floating clause of 3 million euros.
Regarding Jair's arrival, Nottingham Forest Football Director Ross Wilson said: "Jair is a young talent who has shown extraordinary potential in Brazil and we are very happy to sign him."

The 20-year-old Jair came from the Santos youth training and made his professional debut for the Brazilian first team on November 9, 2023. He made a total of 24 appearances for Santos and failed to score a goal or assist.
In February 2025, Jair joined Botafogo from Santos for 12 million euros. So far, he has played 22 times for Botafogo, scored 1 goal and provided 1 assist.
