Beşiktaş announced on its official website on Saturday that Nottingham Forest's Portugal international winger Jota Silva has joined the club on-loan.

According to Beşiktaş' official statement, Jota will play for the club on-loan until the end of the current season, and the loan agreement include an optional buyout clause.

In addition, according to exclusive information from Paul Taylor, The Athletic's longtime Nottingham Forest team correspondent, the Turkish Süper Lig giants paid a total of €4.5 million loan fee to Forest, with Jota's optional buyout clause set at €15.5 million.

About Jota Silva

The 25-year-old Jota was born in Melres, Portugal on August 1, 1999. He is 1.79 meters tall and primarily plays as a left winger. He can also play as a right winger or center forward.

Jota joined the youth academy of non-league club Sousense at the age of 11. In 2017, he moved to the youth academy of Pacos de Ferreira, but was released the following year.

After leaving Pacos de Ferreira, Jota returned to Sousense as a free agent and completed his Sousense first-team debut in September 2018.

In July of the following year, Jota joined Espinho as a free agent.

In July 2020, Jota joined Leixoes as a free agent, during which he attracted the attention of many small and medium-sized Portuguese Primeira Liga and Portuguese Second Division clubs with his high goalscoring efficiency.

On the winter transfer window deadline day the following year, Jota moved to Casa Pia for €150,000.

In July 2022, Jota joined Vitoria de Guimaraes for €1.7 million.

In August 2024, Jota joined Nottingham Forest for €7 million.

Last season, Jota played 38 times for the Premier League dark horse in all competitions, scoring 4 goals and providing 3 assists, helping the team to a shock UEFA Europa League qualification.
