Relevo: Griezmann is close to renewing contract with Atletico Madrid until 2027

Antoine Griezmann is close to signing a new contract with Atletico Madrid, Relevo reported on Thursday. He is expected to play for Atletico for two more seasons until June 30, 2027.

Earlier, there were reports that Griezmann considered moving to the MLS, but he ultimately decided to stay at Atletico. Relevo also pointed out that Griezmann's salary will decrease year by year after the contract extension. It is understood that his current annual salary is about 25 million euros.

Griezmann, 34, mainly plays as a shadow striker, but can also play as a center forward, left winger, right winger, etc. He played for Atletico Madrid for nine seasons at different stages of his career, during which he made 435 appearances, scored 197 goals and provided 91 assists, and won the European Super Cup, Europa League and Spanish Super Cup with the team.

Griezmann has also played 22 Champions League games, 215 La Liga games and 23 Copa del Rey games for Real Sociedad and Barcelona, and won the 2020/21 Copa del Rey championship with the Red and Blues.
