De'Aaron Fox will re-sign with the San Antonio Spurs, according to Clutch Points reporter Brett Siegel on Sunday. He is eligible for a four-year, $229 million extension, but the final amount is expected to be less than that.

De'Aaron Fox, 27, plays primarily as a point guard and was selected by the Sacramento Kings with the fifth overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. He joined the Spurs in a three-team trade last season and underwent left pinky tendon repair surgery in March.

In his eight seasons with the Kings, Fox played a total of 514 regular-season games, averaging 21.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.4 steals per game. He also helped the team end its 17-year playoff drought in the 2022-23 season. After joining the Spurs last season, he played a total of 17 regular-season games, averaging 19.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 1.5 steals per game.

Discussions about Fox's contract extension have been heating up recently, with Stephen Cassell winning Rookie of the Year and Dylan Harper joining the Spurs as the second overall pick. However, based on information currently available, it seems highly likely that he will remain with the Spurs next season.
